It’s often taken for granted how important it is for your Social Media accounts to look professional, but if you really want to build both a true and a large following, whether that be for either a personal or business account, making your profile professional and look good aesthetically is vital.

What Do I Mean By ‘Professional’?

A professional social media account is an accumulation of multiple different factors. These factors include the likes of a clean, simple and clear bio, both a profile picture and banner to match you and your brand, and posts that all somewhat link to one another, whether that be via colour co-ordination or the most important, the fact that your posts are all within a similar niche.

All of these factors stated above can be implemented onto every social media, including the likes of Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Linkedin etc.

It’s vital for your posts to be within a similar niche to one another as that’s what the majority of your followers follow you for. For example, if you’re posting content about gaming and then suddenly switch your content to content about dogs, the chances are that you’ll lose a large majority of your followers, and your engagement, as well as your impressions, will drop significantly (unless, of course, all of your gaming followers have a soft spot for dogs).

So it’s vital for all of your content to somewhat link to each other, one way or another, as it makes your account more enticing for people looking to follow accounts within your specific niche, but also strengthens your business and gives your brand more exposure.
